Strengthening Your Marriage

A four week series on the topic of developing a strong marriage:

tree-small lifes-hurts

Topics:
The importance of forgiveness.
In order to overcome disappointment and hurt in life we need to forgive those who have hurt us.  We also need to recognize that some of our responses to hurt are sinful.  Bitterness, hatred and even unforgiveness itself are sin.  No matter how severe the offense, these sinful responses are not justified.  This teaching ends with a time of reflection and a prayer of forgiveness and repentance will be led from the front.

Overcoming a heart of stone. One of the sinful responses we can have to hurt is hardening our heart.  Jesus came to bring forgiveness so we could have the same intimate relationship with the Father that He had(John 14:23).  Along with this, our love for one another is meant to be a remarkable love that testifies of Jesus(John 13:35).  Having a hard heart can get in the way of this.  God wants to give us a soft heart and take away our hardness(Ezekiel 11:19).  This also ends with a time of reflection and prayer.  We will invite God to give us a soft heart and fulfill Ezekial 11:19 in our lives.

Freedom from ungodly beliefs. An ungodly befief occurs when we make conclusions about ourselves, God or other people based on life experience rather than on the Bible.  Some of the stuff we believe, even as Christians, is just not true.  Our personal history is a valuable teacher but it cannot predict the amazing things that God has stored up for us.  As we mature in Christ we see Him more accurately; we find out how amazing He is!  The other thing that happens as we grow up in Christ, is that we are conformed to His image(1John 3:2).  The In Biblical times, people met Jesus face to face.  Yet some could not receive Him for who He really was.  This was because of their own ideas and expectations.  Many of the pharisees were in this place.  We want to remove anything in our life that would get in the way of seeing Jesus for who He is.  We also want to see ourselves and others the way the Father sees us.  We will end with a time of reflection and prayer.  We will renounce any ungodly beliefs and ask God to put His truth in our hearts.

Our current Sunday morning series:

Building a house that beats with the heart of David

Our Father in heaven loves us! Knowing His love goes beyond understanding. He wants us to experience His love in our daily lives. In fact, Jesus came to lead His disciples into a place where they were living together with their amazing Heavenly Father. Today, Jesus is still leading His disciples into that place of intimacy. This month we will be talking about how we can live in this place. Do you want to experience the love of our amazing Father God? Come out this Sunday or listen to the sermons online as they are posted!

What are Sundays like?

This is a time-lapse video of one of our Sunday services.  I hope this gives you an idea of what things look like.  (We’re a little slower in person!)  I know that some of the people visiting us here on the site are looking for a church to go to.  I want to encourage you to watch some of the videos in the media section, listen to some of the sermons in the sermon section and read over our beliefs and values.  Contact us regarding any questions you might have.  And, of course, feel free to join us in person on any Sunday morning.  -Scott

Every one of us was designed for a reason. God has made each one of us to fulfill a specific destiny. This month we will be focusing on the importance of becoming who we are meant to be, so we can do what we are meant to do.
